About the Author

It all began with a terrible experience teething! My son, my first and only—at the time—was struggling with these growing pains. I searched high and low for a book to share with him in order to explain what was happening in his body and couldn’t find one I liked. So I started writing down my own thoughts about it.

Five years, much learning, and several drafts later, I introduced myself to someone as a picture-book writer. Unofficially, of course. I’m still querying and on sub, but this is what I want to do. This is the path I want my life to take. I want to write for children—not just as a hobby but as a career. But I’m still a teacher at heart, so something else needed to happen, too.

I believe with all my heart that children don’t need to outgrow picture books. Picture books can inspire, instruct, and inform people of all ages. The dream of this website is to give teachers, parents, and caregivers the tools to use these texts to do just that.
